In Memory of Jack J. Hall

 

ARLINGTON --- Jack J. Hall, 73, a retired Lone Star Gas Co. employee, died Monday, March 6, 2000 following a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Visitation: 5:30-7:30pm Thursday at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, TX.

Funeral: 7 p.m. Friday March 10, at Moore Funeral Home

Burial: Saturday 2pm – Oakwood Cemetery, Honey Grove, TX.

In lieu of flowers, Jack requested that donations be made to: Cook Children’s Medical Center, your local Humane Society or the International Myeloma Foundation.

Jack Hall, son of the late Grover and Nora Hall of Honey Grove, was born August 30, 1926 in Noble, TX. He served in the US Navy during WWII and again during the Korean conflict as a Radio/Photo Operator. He participated in "Operation Crossroad", the atomic bomb test at Bikini Atoll in 1946 while serving on the U.S.S. Mt. McKinley, the flagship for the operation. Jack attended and graduated in 1948 from East Texas State University, Commerce, TX with a BS degree. In 1950 Jack married the light of his life, Ima Jean Riddles of Honey Grove. Jack and Jean would have celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage in September of this year. He was a long time employee of Lone Star Gas Company at various locations including Wichita Falls, Abilene, Vernon, Arlington and Dallas. Jack served as Director of Operations Training and Support Group in Dallas prior to his retirement in 1989 after 42 years. He was an active member of the Arlington Seniors Men's Golf Association and was honored in 1999 with the ‘Man of the Year’ award for his contributions to the club.

Survivors: Loving wife Ima Jean Hall, children Pam Hall of Ft Worth and Randy Hall of Arlington. Brothers Leo Keith Hall of Arlington, Clyde Hall of Honey Grove, (Billy Ben Hall who lost his life serving in the Navy following Pearl Harbor) and sister Joanne Hall Dufilho of Horseshoe, NC, In-law Mrs. Jim Riddles of Ft Worth and Aunt Mary Maxine Trotter Russell of San Angelo. Special ‘adopted’ children Lauri Dieterich, Pat Sursely and Christine Bowen along with nieces, nephews and beloved friends. Jack is pictured with his very special ‘sidekick’ of 17 years, Chelsea. He was a man of great integrity and was loved and respected by all who had the honor to have known him. His smile, patience, easy way and willingness to help anyone in need have been an inspiration to his family and friends. His strength, courage and love of life will remain in our hearts forever.
